THE NATIONAL MANUSCRIPTS CONSERVATION TRUST
The National Manuscripts Conservation Trust (NMCT) is the only UK charity focussing solely on supporting the conservation of manuscripts. The National Manuscripts Conservation Trust was set up in 1990 to provide financial assistance to owners and custodians in the UK in preserving the nation's written heritage. In addition to giving grants, we advise applicants on matters relating to potential applications, including specific preservation policies and strategies and to best practice in preservation.

Past grants The NMCT has been awarding grants for the conservation of manuscripts since 1991. Northamptonshire Archives Service A major grant from NMCT is enabling the conservation of the preeminent Westmorland of Apethorpe Archive. Bronte Society The NMCT helps preserve important manuscript and archive collections by awarding grants for their conservation.
