Saving Dogs One Person at a Time In the US each year around 3 million dogs are surrendered or abandoned. Sadly there are not enough resources to rehabilitate and rehome so many dogs. While there are over 15000 great nonprofits that shelter and rescue dogs those charities focus mostly on the shortterm problem.
