The Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police & Foundation is the professional membership organization for Virginia's law enforcement executives. The Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police & Foundation (VACP), founded in 1926, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit membership organization of local, state, federal & private law enforcement executives in Virginia. The purpose of the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police shall be to promote the professional development of all executive and managerial personnel within the duly constituted law enforcement agencies in the Commonwealth of Virginia to encourage close cooperation of all law enforcement agencies in the prevention of crime, detection of crime and the apprehension of those responsible for the commission of crimes.
