National Society of Colonial Dames

Tate House, a sophisticated Georgian home overlooking the Stroudwater and Fore Rivers, was built in 1755 for Senior Mast Agent George Tate Tate House Museum is the only colonial house open to the public in the greater Portland area and the only one in New England to interpret the essential colonial mast trade economy with the British Royal Navy.
