SOCIETY OF MEDICOLEGAL DEATH INVESTIGATORS (SOMDI) PROVIDES SCIENTIFIC FORENSIC DEATH INVESTIGATION TRAINING AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES TO MEDICOLEGAL DEATH INVESTIGATORS, BEING THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO INVESTIGATE VIOLENT, SUSPICIOUS, SUDDEN AND/OR UNEXPECTED DEATHS TO ASSIST IN THE DETERMINATION OF A DECENDENT'S CAUSE AND MANNER OF DEATH AND WHO ARE EMPLOYED BY MEDICOLEGAL JURISDICTIONS AND/OR INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE CURRENTLY CERTIFIED AND ARE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THE AMERICAN BOARD OF MEDICOLEGAL DEATH INVESTIGATORS.
