THE HEALTH ALLIANCE FOR NONPROFITS WAS FORMED TO PROVIDE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WITH AFFORDABLE, QUALITY HEALTH INSURANCE PRODUCTS AND INFORMATION SERVICES THAT ADDRESS THEIR SPECIFIC NEEDS INCLUDING PROMOTING HEALTHIER LIFESTYLES FOR CO-WORKERS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND A HEALTHIER WORKPLACE BENEFITING CLIENTS AND VOLUNTEERS, IMPROVING THE RETENTION OF EMPLOYEES, REDUCING STAFF TURNOVER AND THE ASSOCIATED COSTS OF RETRAINING, POSITIVELY IMPACTING THE QUALITY OF CLIENT SERVICE, LOWERING THE COST OF PURCHASING HEALTH INSURANCE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, LOWERING ADMINISTRATIVE AND OVERHEAD COSTS, OFFERING NONPROFIT MANAGERS AN OBJECTIVE AND RELIABLE SOURCE OF INFORMATION AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON HOW TO BUDGET FOR HEALTH INSURANCE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, DEVELOPING CUSTOMIZED PRODUCTS THAT MEET THE UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE NONPROFIT WORKFORCE, MANAGING THE OPERATIONS OF THE HEALTH ALLIANCE TO BE COST NEUTRAL.

Verge (formerly Valleys Innovation Council), which includes alliance members Roanoke-Blacksburg Technology Council (RBTC) and the Regional Accelerator and Mentoring Program (RAMP), helps facilitate regional connection, communication, and collaboration by identifying regional priorities and funding to advance tech and biotech projects and solutions across the Roanoke and New River Valleys, and Lynchburg.
