Refuge Farms operates with two missions: 1) The rescue of severely abused and neglected horses giving sanctuary to these "dier" horses - horses with significant physical or personality issues that cause even the other rescue organizations to deny them; re-homing the horses that can be done so safely and 2) Utilizing the sanctuary horses in structured horse handling training classes primarily intended for at-risk teens giving opportunity for establishment of self-esteem and positive self-image.
