Dedicated to enabling and advocating for human-powered boating in Greenpoint, Brooklyn The mission of the North Brooklyn Community Boathouse is to foster public awareness, environmental stewardship and appreciation of the ecological, water-use, historic, and recreational issues and value of the waterways of the City of New York, particularly those surrounding the Greenpoint and Williamsburg neighborhoods of Brooklyn and their environs; educate the public as to issues concerning urban estuary ecology and recreational waterway access and use; and provide, sponsor, and coordinate programs and opportunities to enable the public to safely access and enjoy the waterways in an environmentally sustainable manner via human-powered watercraft.
