The Museum is organized for charitable purposes including but not limited to the collection, preservation, study, exhibit, and educational use of artifacts, artwork, and archival material related to the history of steamboats on the Chesapeake Bay, and the Steamboat Era in the town of Irvington and the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.
