BAMIT shall be a non-profit, educational organization whose purpose is to serve the needs of Black students, Black faculty, and researchers of MIT, and the Black community with particular emphasis on architecture, science, engineering, technology, education, and related fields such as urban planning, policy and management of technology, invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
