The mission of the Valley of the Moon Music Festival is to bring the unique sound of Classical and Romantic chamber music on period instruments to audiences in Sonoma and beyond, and to expand the horizons of up-and-coming chamber musicians in our Apprenticeship and Laureate Programs.

Specifically, it is the purpose of the Sandy Mountain Festival to:Enhance the business climate of Sandy through promotions and attractions that bring people to Sandy; Encourage local businesses to give special promotions to showcase their products during the period of time of the Sandy Mountain Festival and its related activities; Give local non-profit organizations an opportunity to raise funds through food booths in the park, which in turn benefits the total community; Give artists and crafts people an opportunity to display and sell their wares; and Promote community pride and participation.
