Women and Theatre Program

The mission of the Women and Theatre Program is to (a) to foster and encourage the study of women in theatre, feminist theatre and theatrical representations of women; (b) to educate ourselves and others about the limitations resulting from sexism, racism homophobia, ageism and class difference as present in theatrical production, representation and education; (c) to make available selected services, programs, meetings and other activities designed to meet the needs of women working in the theatre; and (d) to receive and disburse funds to carry out the foregoing purpose.

Arts for East AFE is a nonprofit organization comprised of community members and Denver East program directors that provides strategic oversight leadership accountability fiscal management and collaborative coaching for the teacherdirectors who instruct and manage eight different performing arts programs at East High School Theatre Speech Debate Dance Vocal Music Instrumental Music Creative Writing Angels On Air Theatre Nearly 300 students participate annually in diverse musicals drama and small productions from Sister Act to Shakespeare.
