The Avalanche Center seeks to reduce fatalities, injuries and property damage due to snow avalanches by using the internet and related technologies to provide educational resources and to facilitate the dissemination and discussion of technical advances in order to assist people in independently making sound decisions which will reduce snow avalanche hazards.
