Pike Oley DistrictPreservation Coalition The PODPC Story The Pike Oley District Preservation Coalition traces its origins to a local environmental threat the proposal of the Wissahickon Spring Water Company of Philadelphia to extract water on leased land in Pike Township at the site of an old trout hatchery where a pristine freshwater spring flows into Pine Creek an Exceptional Value stream.

THE OLEY FIRE COMPANY WAS FORMED TO PROVIDE SUPPORT OF A FIRE ENGINE AND HOSE COMPANY FOR THE PREVENTION OF EXTINGUISHING FIRES; FOR THE SAVING AND PROTECTING OF LIFE BY THE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF AN AMBULANCE; FOR THE SAVING AND PROTECTING OF LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM INJURY BY ANY CAUSE; TO PROMOTE SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES; TO PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN A RELIEF ASSOCIATION; TO PROVIDE A PLACE AND FACILITIES FOR LEGITIMATE ENTERTAINMENT AND AMUSEMENT OF ALL ITS MEMBERS; TO PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN A MEETING PLACE FOR ALL ITS MEMBERS; AND TO ASSIST AND DO CHARITABLE WORK IN THE COMMUNITY.
