Illinois Trial Lawyers Association Education Fund

The purposes of the Education Fund are: to advance the science of Jurisprudence; to conduct educational programs, including but not limited to, the sponsoring of seminars and lectures in all areas and phases of trial advocacy; to promote law students' interest in trial advocacy through the sponsorship, together with major law schools, of essay contests open to law students; to cause to be published and distributed, treatises, books and other publications on any or all aforementioned; articles, addresses, reports, subjects related to the aforementioned; to cause to be produced and distributed, films, recording discs, displays, and other audio-visual materials on any or all subjects related to the aforementioned; to engage in any and all lawful activity which may be necessary, useful, suitable, desirable or proper for the furtherance, accomplishment, fostering or attainment of the above purposes.

The objectives of the Association shall be to: uphold the Constitution of the United States of America and the State of Illinois; secure and protect the rights of those injured in their persons or civil rights; defend trial by jury and the adversary system of justice; strive to achieve and maintain high standards of professional ethics, competency and demeanor in the bench and bar; promote fair, prompt and efficient administration of justice; educate and train in the art of advocacy.
