MaterCare USA

Overview MaterCare USA is a part of the global MaterCare International organization, which is an international group of Catholic obstetricians and gynecologists. The organization is dedicated to improving the health and lives of mothers and babies, adhering to a preferential option for both.

Mission

The mission of MaterCare USA aligns with that of MaterCare International, focusing on carrying out the work of Evangelium Vitae (the Gospel of Life) through initiatives of service, training, research, and advocacy. These efforts aim to reduce maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity in developing countries, as well as global abortion rates.

History

While MaterCare International was formally established in 1995 in Canada, MaterCare USA was initially part of MaterCare International USA, which was led by Dr. Robert Walley, a Canadian obstetrician-gynecologist. Over time, Maternal Life International (MLI) emerged from these efforts, although MaterCare USA remains part of the broader MaterCare International network.
