The 2025 NIB/NAEPB Public Policy Forum wrapped up yesterday after three action-packed days. From policy training sessions and expert speakers to celebrating the retirement of a long-time NIB leader and nearly 120 meetings with elected officials on Capitol Hill, our Advocates for Leadership and Employment and representatives from associated nonprofit agencies covered a lot of ground. Together, we sought meaningful change, urging lawmakers to support both a 1% Department of Defense utilization goal for the AbilityOne Program and the Blind Americans Return to Work Act (H.R. 1175), which proposes reforms to the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program. Thanks to everyone who brought great energy, shared their personal experiences, and helped advocate this year.
