We're getting ready to start adoption appointments for the cats and kittens we have left in our care (now that all the board members are fully vaccinated) We have some really great cats that will be available, and you'll start seeing pictures of them in the next week or two! It's the time of year to update the cats yearly distemper vaccines, get new flea meds, microchips, and generally update them on what they need before they're adopted. Plus we're still going through 3-5 tubs of litter a week, and at least 1 bag of food per week. Caring for them all the last year without adoptions has depleted our funding, and all the board members have been carrying the costs of food and litter through the last several months, but we need more to get these guys up to date so they can find their forever homes - so we're asking you all for help. Any donation helps these guys get closer to finding their forever homes, and helps us care for the unadoptable kitties that will be with us for the rest of their lives. Donating through Paypal (link below) helps us the most, because it is available to us right away, donating through Facebook can take 60-90 days to reach us. https://www.paypal.com/donate?token=hzHLVGyZLymMjCijJVeU6OMTGgZsKHHfvgXYNDYTccp1K0JrWUMHw8qNjuUa-rMUZ-c--eqjKrus4itc (fb)

Announcement: Crafty Cat Rescue has moved into Sanctuary mode, in preparation for our eventual close. This means that we are still taking care of the animals that we have, but are not accepting new intakes (though we will always accept returns/intakes of animals that have been in our organization previously). When it is safe we will reopen again for adoption appointments for any animals in our care that are adoptable. We have a number of animals that are considered "unadoptable" for health/behavioral reasons and they will be with a permanent foster for life, so we can still use our community support until that point. At this point we are no longer accepting new fosters, and encourage anyone interested in adoption to fill out an adoption application on our website and we will contact you when we have openings for adoption appointments. This decision did not come lightly, but all our board members are in agreement that it is time for this to happen. We've helped over 1000 animals in the last few years, and the strain on the core members of Crafty Cat has finally gotten to be too much for us to continue. Thank you to everyone for your support over the years, and watch for updates of animals that are still in our care! Picture of Ulrika (one of our long term kitties) for visibility. (fb)
