The Panepirotic Federation of America was founded in 1942 in Worcester, MA. It was created to improve the economic situation and quality of life of the people living in Epirus as well as to protect the human rights of Greeks living in Southern Albania. ORGANIZATION FOUNDED IN 1942 BY IMMIGRANTS FROM THE ANCIENT REGION OF EPIROS, HALF OF WHICH IS IN GREECE AND HALF IN ALBANIA. THE PURPOSE OF THE GROUP IS TO HELP PEOPLE FROM THE AREA SETTLE IN THE U.S. AND MAINTAIN THE CULTURE AND TRADITIONS OF THEIR HISTORIC HOMELAND.

Statement by the Panepirotic Federation of America on the Passing of Petroloukas Halkias It is with profound sorrow and deep respect that we mourn the passing of Petroloukas Halkias, one of the most iconic figures in Greek traditional music and the living soul of the Epirotic sound. Petro was more than a master of the clarinet—he was the voice of our region. Through every note, he expressed the longing, strength, pain, and beauty of Epirus.
