Community Television Network
We are a nonprofit organization, empowering Chicago's youth through digital media and television! Community TV Network (CTVN) teaches cutting-edge digital video production to low-income youth throughout Chicago. We promote positive youth and community development with the overall goal of raising the educational success and economic viability of the neighborhoods where our youth participants live and work. Since 1974, we have used video as an art form and educational tool to improve the opportunities available to low-income African-American and Latino youth in Chicago. In 1980, we incorporated as an independent, tax exempt nonprofit and have emerged as an innovative leader in youth media. Our media literacy curriculum empowers youth with a platform of self representation while cultivating academic and job skills, self-esteem, community awareness and intellectual curiosity.
