Trout Unlimited, founded in Grayling, MI in 1959, has grown to become an international organization with over 125,000 members. TU is recognized as the foremost coldwater conservation group. The Michigan Council coordinates the efforts of our 20 local chapters throughout the state. The presence of trout is a strong indicator of a healthy coldwater ecosystem.

Michigan Trout Unlimited over 7000 members statewide Michigan Trout Unlimited coordinates and represents 19 local chapters of Trout Unlimited and over 7000 individuals dedicated to the conservation protection and restoration of Michigans coldwater fish and their watersheds. Michigan is blessed with a vast wealth of wonderful and unique trout streams over 11000 inland lakes and the largest sources of cold freshwater in North America the Great Lakes. Michigan Trout Unlimited does whatever it takes to advocate for the prudent management of these resources including ontheground stream improvements angler steward education research partnerships and collaboration with other conservation groups and governmental agencies and policy development. Michigan is the birthplace of Trout Unlimited and Michigan Trout Unlimited continues that proud heritage with its work today.
