WECAN works to facilitate and expand a diverse, global women's climate justice movement. Our four guiding principles are: Rights of Women, Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Rights of Nature, Rights of Future Generations. Studies worldwide demonstrate that women are impacted first and worst by the effects of climate change. Yet, one of the most vital untold stories is that women are essential to local and global solutions and need more prominent spaces and mechanisms to marshal united efforts and involvement into a clear and defined movement and action. WECAN provides such opportunities and engages women as powerful stakeholders through climate education and advocacy, policy, trainings, movement building, and on-the-ground sustainability solutions.
