VSA arts of New Jersey is part of the international VSA arts network, an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. VSA arts is designated by Congress as the national coordinating agency for arts programs for individuals with disabilities. Founded in New Jersey in 1978 and formerly named Very Special Arts New Jersey, the agency is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities through cultural, educational, and recreational programming in the arts.
