The organization was initially founded in 2002 in Gunnison, Colorado, as the Gunnison Colts, with the goal of providing opportunities for amateur baseball players in the western slope area. Over the years, the team has evolved, transitioning to playing in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League and eventually moving to Arvada in 2011. Since then, the Arvada Colts have been active in community engagement, partnering with local youth organizations and businesses to foster community participation.
