Looking for a Volunteer Trail Crew Leader for the Humboldt Bay Trail South (Bracut to the Eureka Slough). Responsibilities include being a regular presence on the Humboldt Bay Trail South (Bracut to the Eureka Slough); walking or riding the section of trail enough to be familiar with trail conditions; organizing monthly workdays for the trail segment; establishing a crew of Volunteer Trail Steward Volunteers; communicating with volunteers about upcoming trail workdays; providing direction, guidance and oversight for the work activities performed each workday; having the necessary tools, supplies and equipment to perform the work activities scheduled for that workday; maintaining records for the trail regarding all VTS volunteers; making sure each new volunteer signs a liability waiver form; documenting attendance at each monthly trail workday; reporting maintenance issues or potentially hazardous conditions to the VTS Coordinator and/or the trail owner/agency partner; participating in an annual meeting of all Trail Crew Leaders.
