Working with people who actually work in and around the ocean, coasts, bays, and rivers, MARACOOS cultivates data with purpose.

MARACOOS 2019 MidAtlantic Regional Association Coastal Ocean Observing System Powering Understanding and Prediction of the MidAtlantic Ocean and Coasts 49 M OBSERVATIONS 10 STATES 25 OF THE US POPULATION 5 ESTUARIES STORM RESOURCE CENTER MARACOOS and our partners are tracking storms and collecting data related to storms and other extreme events impacting the East Coast. Using data derived from gliders drifters buoys models radars satellites and weather stations to analyze ocean dynamics we are better able to predict impacts in the MidAtlantic as storms and weather systems move through the region. Users can easily filter parameters of interest and compare model and observation data both graphically and statistically.
