A Proud Legacy 150 Years of Service In 2022 the West Sand Lake Volunteer Fire Department proudly marked its 150th anniversary of serving the Town of Sand Lake. Established as the third rural volunteer fire company in Rensselaer County and the first in our town our history is rich and deeply rooted in the desire to protect our community.
