Curious about different ways to support the Foundation's mission? There are several impactful ways to donate, and one particularly smart option is gifting appreciated stock. This approach not only helps advance physical therapy research but also comes with valuable tax benefits. "I support physical therapy research because I want to help patients and the public at large understand how rehabilitation can help improve pain and quality of life in those with musculoskeletal disorders," says Lori Michener, PT, PhD, FAPTA, a physical therapy researcher and long-time supporter of the Foundation who gifts appreciated stock. About the organization
- 800, T30, H99, E12 -
We fund physical therapy research grants and scholarships. Jim Gordon EdD PT FAPTA began his journey in physical therapy as a clinician in the 1970s where he quickly identified gaps in scientific knowledge that were limiting the effectiveness of treatments and practices. Richard Shields PT PhD FAPTA forged his own path by joining his spinal cord research experience with his passion for advancing physical therapy education. Stephanie Di Stasi PT MSPT PhD an experienced physical therapy researcher focusing on ventral hernia disease believes in the value of pragmatic trials which aim to inform rehabilitation in realworld conditions and improve patient outcomes.
