Herndon-Reston FISH, Inc. (Friendly, Instant, Sympathetic Help) volunteer, non-sectarian, non-profit 501(c)(3) for emergency and short-term needs. Herndon-Reston FISH, Inc. (HRFISH) is a nonsectarian, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing "Friendly Instant Sympathetic Help" to local residents in short-term crises. HRFISH provides emergency financial assistance to people in all demographics in predominantly extremely low-income levels. HRFISH responds to requests for rent, utilities, critical dental and medical care / prescriptions, household items, and other short-term emergency needs. Every year, HRFISH volunteers and a small staff respond immediately to prevent a crisis situation from becoming an escalating and costly problem. As first responders, we stop evictions, utility shut-offs, and other destabilizing actions.
