Update: Sophia has been adopted into a loving home!! 🩵💛 🐾 Sophia Deserves a Second Shot — and She Needs It Now. 🐾 Meet Sophia, a 9-month-old Terrier mix bursting with personality, energy, and charm! She came to HSNBA as a tiny puppy with her littermates in 2024 and was quickly adopted as a cute puppy at just 10 weeks old. Sadly, she was returned a few months later when her adopter struggled to keep her contained in the pen they had for her. That was 7 weeks ago — and Sophia’s still waiting. She’s been to nearly every offsite adoption event, she’s featured in playgroups, pack walks, and doggy day outs, she’s been posted multiple times and covered by local news — and yet, no luck. We’ve given Sophia every chance. Now she needs you. We're overwhelmed with incoming strays and urgently need to move adoptable dogs like Sophia into homes. But Sophia is more than just a space we need to free up — she’s a smart, social, and highly trainable dog who just needs the right match. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝘂𝘁: 🧠 Smart and trainable — she knows sit, stay, come, down, shake, and roll over! 🍖 Treat-motivated, attentive, and responds well to corrections. 🐕 Loves other dogs — especially those who match her rough-and-rowdy play style. 🤗 Super friendly — she’s a staff and volunteer favorite! 🚶‍♀️ Improving on leash every day during structured walks. 𝗦𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟱/𝟮𝟳/𝟮𝟱, 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿. We must get her adopted (the fee will be waived for an approved adopter), secure a long-term foster (Short-term fostering won’t help this time — we’re full, and space is urgently needed), or transfer to a Trusted Rescue Partner, and we need to do it FAST.
