AIA Georgia's function is to increase the public's knowledge and awareness of architecture and the role architects play in the built and and planned environment Founded in 1954, AIA Savannah, the Savannah Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, is a professional service organization serving our community as stewards of Savannah’s distinguished architectural heritage. AIA GEORGIA PROMOTES THE PROFESSION OF ARCHITECTURE THROUGH FELLOWSHIP, ADVOCACY, COMMUNICATIONS AND EDUCATION. THE ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS THE ACTIVITIES OF SEVEN LOCAL CHAPTERS: ATLANTA, AUGUSTA, MIDDLE GEORGIA, SOUTH GEORGIA, SOUTHWEST GEORGIA, GOLDEN ISLES AND WEST GEORGIA. AIA GEORGIA SERVES AS THE VOICE OF THE PROFESSION AT THE STATE LEGISLATURE, PROVIDES CONTINUING EDUCATION THROUGH ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE, CELEBRATES DESIGN THROUGH ITS ANNUAL DESIGN AWARDS PROGRAM, AND SUPPORTS MEMBERS SEEKING ELEVATION TO FELLOWSHIP - A NATIONALLY ENDORSED RECOGNITION OF SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO THE PROFESSION.
