In a heartfelt note of gratitude shared after their experience, the patient wrote: "I don't even know if 'thank you' is a big enough word for what you did for me. My life could’ve gone very differently for me if you hadn’t been there. You didn’t know me, but you saw me. You saw past the fear, past the hurt, and you stood up for me when I couldn’t stand up for myself. You made sure I was safe when I didn’t even feel human anymore.
