ARTWORKS BIG RAPIDS AREA ARTS AND HUMANITIES
Artworks is a non-profit organization for the arts and humanities in Big Rapids, Michigan. Our mission is Vitalizing our community through the arts and humanities. Artworks advances our mission by being a community gathering place. We create opportunities for people in our community to connect with friends and family, strike up a conversation with a stranger, be creatively engaged, and learn something new about the world or about themselves. We have 8-12 exhibits a year, events, programs for kids, families, and adults and teens with disabilities, artist demonstrations, music and theater performances, summer camps, and classes. We sell original art made by Michigan artists in our gift shop. We do these things because we believe that arts and humanities are a core part of community and human vitality and can be part of our everyday lives.
