On May 22, residents of Monarch Commons in Cicero, NY, came together to commemorate Memorial Day. Brian Hopkins, a Marine veteran and Case Manager with Soldier On, delivered a brief but meaningful speech about the importance of the day and the enduring value of service. Residents were invited to write messages of gratitude to fallen veterans and hang them beside the American flag – one of those messages is shown here. A symbolic place setting was arranged in honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The gathering continued with a cookout, music from DJ Anthony, and time shared in remembrance and community.
