In the decade plus of the foundations life it gave over 59 million in grants to 195 organizations in the areas of Immigration reform Civic Engagement and for Family Children Youth. One key to that different style was Amy Hagedorns decision to make this a spenddown foundation rather than one designed to last many decades into the future.
