Cathedral athletes and their families celebrated the end of a fantastic year of growth, grit, and athleticism at the Sports Awards Dinner! Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player, and Sportsmanship awards were given to players on all 9 of our fall, winter, and spring teams. Impressively, a total of 52 students received the Academic Achievement Award for playing a sport and earning an overall GPA above 90! Our incredible Athletics Director, Coach Courtney Taylor, spoke about the lifelong value of playing team sports as young women—being a student athlete challenges you to grow in virtues like respect, hard work, and resilience. Our studio art and basic art classes recently undertook a self portrait painting project! Using body language to convey a particular aspect of themselves, they painted themselves in a realist style, paying close attention to values, color, and the setting. (fb)
