The Flushing Area Senior Center is a community focal point where older adults come together for services and activities that reflect their experience and skills, respond to their diverse needs and interests, enhance their dignity, support their independence and encourage their involvement in and with the Center and the Community.

Flushing Area Senior Center FLUSHING AREASENIOR CENTER QUICK LINKS UPCOMING EVENTS Our Story Our Mission The Flushing Area Senior Center began meeting as a group of senior citizens in 1966. They met regularly at Central Elementary School. The group continued to grow under the leadership of Clara Darby and adopted Articles of Corporation in 1977. In 1979 through the cooperation of the City of Flushing and Flushing Charter Township grant funds through the Community Development Block Grant program were secured in order to purchase and renovate the former Michigan Bell Telephone building naming the facility the Clara Darby Building.
