THE RHODE ISLAND PUBLIC HEALTH ASSOCIATION (RIPHA) IS A 501(C)(3) NON-PROFIT, TAX-EXEMPT, PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION THAT WORKS TOWARD THE ADVANCEMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH. RIPHA IS THE RHODE ISLAND AFFILIATE OF THE AMERICAN PUBLIC HEALTH ASSOCIATION (APHA). APHA THE OLDEST AND MOST DIVERSE ORGANIZATION OF PUBLIC HEALTH PROFESSIONALS IN THE WORLD, WORKING TO IMPROVE PUBLIC HEALTH SINCE 1872.THE VISION OF RIPHA IS A SAFE AND HEALTHIER RHODE ISLAND.THE MISSION OF RIPHA IS TO INFLUENCE PUBLIC HEALTH POLICY AND PROMOTE PUBLIC HEALTH PRACTICE IN RHODE ISLAND.

Since its inception in 1996 RIPHA has been guided by four principles Read more Upcoming events Racism and Public Health Racism and associated violence are public health issues that should have no place in our world. The Rhode Island Public Health Association stands with the Black Lives Matter movement and all of those fighting systemic institutionalized racism and injustices. Public health goes beyond vaccines and contact tracing to include social determinants of health the conditions in our environment that impact health.
