Last week, our Family Shelter had an amazing gardening activity where each family made their own beautiful and unique gardens outside of their townhomes. It was a wonderful day of color, connection, and a whole lot of dirt under our nails! With it being Mental Health Awareness Month, this day was the perfect reminder that simple things—like digging in the dirt, laughing with loved ones, and building something together—can go a long way in boosting mental health. Huge thanks to the Allegheny County Medical Society and the McKeesport Hospital Foundation for making this day possible, and to all the staff and volunteers who joined in the fun! (fb)

Volunteer Spotlight: High School Juniors at The Neighborhood Academy We want to extend a huge thanks to the Junior Class at The Neighborhood Academy and their teacher, Mr. Monsma, for their incredible two-day volunteer project at Community Bridge! Thanks to their hard work, our front patio and yard have been transformed into a welcoming outdoor oasis. Students weeded, prepped garden beds, assembled raised beds and benches, and planted vegetables and flowers for our residents to care for and enjoy throughout the season.
