This exhibition features early color photographs originally made for marketing research during the golden age of advertising. Shot across postwar highways and small towns, the images document billboards selling mid-century dreams: cars, cigarettes, sliced bread, honest-tasting cigarettes, a gift for the Mrs., and countless other staples of middle-class living.
