Dancin Power is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the United States, founded by Vania Deonizio. It is dedicated to improving the quality of life for hospitalized children by providing interactive dance classes. These sessions are designed to be adaptable and accessible, even for children facing chronic and life-threatening illnesses who may be bedridden, hooked to IVs, or wheelchair-bound.

Programs

• Dance Classes: Dancin Power offers free-of-charge dance lessons, tailored to meet the physical needs of each child. These classes are held regularly and include a variety of dance styles such as jazz, modern, ballet, traditional Brazilian dances, Bollywood, hip-hop, and more.
• Teacher Training: The organization has developed a comprehensive 30-hour Teacher Training Program, which has trained over 50 artists since its inception. This program ensures that instructors are skilled in adapting dance to the needs of hospitalized children.

Impact

Since its inception in 2006, Dancin Power has positively impacted over 15,000 hospitalized children and their families across seven children's hospitals in the U.S. The organization's innovative approach has broken barriers in delivering in-hospital dance lessons, making it a pioneering program in its field.

Founding and Leadership

Vania Deonizio, the founder of Dancin Power, is an award-winning speaker and holds a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Expressive Arts Therapy. Her work emphasizes the healing potential of music, movement, and mindfulness for traumatized children.
