Secondary audiences include friends and family members of people with joint pain. Statement of Need The need for more educational programs includes The need for more conveniently measured joint pain outcomes that are important to most people The need for more effective clinical and public health joint pain interventions Arthritis is the most common cause of disability and is a large and growing problem affecting 52. 5 million adults now and a projected 67 million by 2030.
