DBE in New York DBE in New York State A British and Commonwealth of Nations Womens Organization Not Ourselves but the Cause The Daughters of the British Empire DBE is a charitable nonprofit nonpolitical nonsectarian voluntary American society of women of British or Commonwealth of Nations birth or ancestry. Women whose spouses spouses parents or grandparents are of British or Commonwealth birth are also eligible. Our members are professionals businesswomen and homemakers with shared interests and heritage who meet regularly for business and social events with the common cause of philanthropy. For over 100 years The Daughters of the British Empire in the U.
