But in fragmented forests divided by roads, such movements can become fatal. 🌳🐒We won’t share the heartbreaking image taken at the scene. It’s too painful. But this tragedy is a stark reminder of the urgent challenges facing cotton-top tamarins and so many other wildlife species. 🌳🐒Why Roads Are So Dangerous for Wildlife When forests are cut into pieces—by roads, agriculture, or development—animals like cotton-top tamarins are forced to travel on the ground to reach other patches of habitat. These journeys are risky. Narrow roads may not seem like barriers to us, but to small, tree-dwelling primates, they can be deadly.
