Family Alliance for Counseling Tools & Resolution Benefiting refugees and immigrants in Santa Clara County COVID-19 presents new challenges to the immigrant: STRESS ON TOP OF STRESS! Immigrants are already stressed enough by the experiences they face as newcomers to the country, some, for very different reasons, for most, a common experience of having to adjust to a whole new way of life in a new country. Any change involving a transition as big as emigrating to a new land can be quite disorienting, at best. Throw in the Coronavirus as an acute stressor that threatens all, newcomers and host citizens, as well, and disorientation and disequilibrium can be overwhelming! Compounded by fear, worry, concerns about family back home, and managing a whole family, home together for long stretches, stress can be through the roof.
