Let's talk about housing advocacy at MSP!⁠ ⁠ MSP housing advocacy services can include: ⁠ Emergency Shelter: in our shelter or finding another open placement⁠ Transitional Housing: Support clients looking for permanent housing⁠ Assisting with DSS paperwork and benefits⁠ Assisting with landlord disagreements⁠ Assisting with Section 8 paperwork⁠ Assisting in finding suitable permanent housing and furnishings⁠ ⁠ Our housing advocacy team can help any client of MSP, whether they are in our residential housing or not. MSP is committed to supporting survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking in Westchester County.⁠ ⁠ Each client who needs housing advocacy starts by filling out an assessment with the advocate. It is lengthy, but it is essential to figuring out what benefits the client may be eligible for and gets them on the housing waitlist. Once an opening becomes available for the client, the advocate will reach out and assist with moving preparations. We have several partner agencies that can also help with moving and furnishing the new home.
