Over 2200 guinea pigs were rescued and re-homed in 2021 alone. LAGPR offers rescue, sanctuary and adoption services as well as free wellness checks, nail clips, advice and ongoing support to all guinea pigs and their owners. Low cost vet clinic twice a month ​Guinea pigs are rescued from city shelters and private parties. We rely solely on donations and volunteers to keep going. ​ Founder Saskia Chiesa started the organization in 1999 shortly after arriving here from her native Holland.
