SMART Home Tour! 🏠📲 KenCrest held an event to talk about the Lifetime Gap on Assistive Technology for PA individuals. With legislatures Rep. Joe Ciresi, Rep. Joe Hohenstein, Rep. Tim Briggs, Brian Hart from Shift Ability in Ohio, Marian Baldini KenCrest's President and CEO, and many others. The Lifetime Gap has been at $10,000 since the 1990’s. Recently the PA Office of Developmental Programs advanced the issue as a proposed waiver amendment and into a public comment period. The proposed waiver amendment includes the following detail: Support the use of Assistive Technology through changes to the limits for Assistive Technology. The Consolidated Waiver's $10,000 lifetime limit will be replaced by a $3,000 fiscal year limit. Participants who need Assistive Technology that exceeds this limit may request a variance. The Community Living and P/FDS Waivers' $10,000 lifetime limit is being removed for all Assistive Technology except generators since Assistive Technology is included in the annual limit on waiver services for both waivers. If the proposed waiver amendment receives final approval through ODP the lifetime limit would be lifted and effective on Jan. 1, 2026! (fb)
