πππ’π₯π¦ by artist Dar James is on display now in the Garden's Welcome Center! This collection of paintings, collages illustrated books and more is on display through Sunday, June 22. Through vibrant color and intricate marks, Dar James brings trees to life as symbols of strength, growth, and connection. Layering acrylics, papers, and thousands of hand-placed dots, she creates luminous, textured works. This process has become her distinctive style, which is decidedly joyful and rich with rhythm, movement and metaphor that reimagines nature as a playful tapestry, where branches stretch like unfolding stories and roots connect the hidden threads of memory and time. HUGE thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate 10 years of welcoming visitors! π This morning, Pittsburgh Botanic Garden hosted members, staff, and legislators to reflect on the journey to this milestone year and celebrate the bright future ahead. It's because of all of you that Pittsburgh Botanic Garden continues to grow and pursue our mission of inspiring people to value plants, garden design and the natural world. Special thanks to Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato (Office of the Allegheny County Executive), Senator Devlin Robinson, and PA State Rep. Valerie Gaydos for joining us to celebrate, and Congressman Chris Deluzio, Senator Dave McCormick, and Rep. Anita Kulik for your continued support of Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. (fb)
