NWA Black Heritage
The Mission of NWA Black Heritage is to document and preserve African American heritage while highlighting our participation in the development of this region. NWA Black Heritage preserves, documents, discovers, and informs about Black culture NWA Black Heritage aims to address and correct longstanding systemic inequalities faced by African Americans. Our work is rooted in three guiding principles: education, preservation, and advocacy . These principles are key to safeguarding and celebrating the vibrant cultural heritage of Black communities in our region. We strive to fulfill our mission by preserving and documenting both physical and cultural heritage, advocating for policies and initiatives that promote racial equity and belonging, and offering educational programs that highlight the rich history and ongoing contributions of Black individuals in Northwest Arkansas.
